Make Hay While the Sun Shines

The girls had a great journey, leaving Cheshire at 7.30am and arriving in Brighton just before 1pm, having had a stop on the way.  I was up early getting their rooms ready and then went to do a supermarket shop and got home just as they arrived.

Rach unpacked, we had lunch and then walked across the fields to the hay bales, and of course we had to take some photos of the girls sat on the bales.

Next we headed down to the beach with Scarlett's scooter and Violet's little 'scramble bug', but we didn't go far as they enjoyed themselves playing with the pebbles on the beach.  The sea was a bit rough, so we kept well back!

We've had a relaxing night, and ordered an Indian takeaway to have once the girls had gone to bed.  We're all tired though, so having an early night.

In other news, Sherbie has laid another egg!  But as we'd removed the nest, she'd laid it on the bottom of the cage.  Luckily, she allowed us to put the nest back, together with a fake egg and she's now sitting on it.  I'm not sure whether it's normal that they lay so frequently!

Another funny thing was that I spotted a little bird on the wall of our terrace, I'm not sure what it was, but it looked a little yellow.  Anyway, Alan said while I was out, it was flying at the patio door to get her attention, and then sat on plant pots looking in.
