Udawalawe National Park - Wildlife Adventures

Yet another thrilling moment in Udawalawe National Park... The elephant density in this park is too much, that 20 - 30 elephant sightings can be easily guaranteed in every visit.

Due to this high population, "the loner" (individual elephants who're chased away from the herds due to their violent behavior or simply - the bad boys of the elephant community) gets highly pissed off due to the many jeeps that travel around them. Also the normal herds also get panicked when they have new born elephants amidst them.

Whatever the reason was, we got another extremely thrilling moment in wildlife, when 2 elephants came roaring towards our jeep & they almost collided. Luckily their "brake-pads" were good & they just kept circling our vehicle, trumpeting for a minute or so & let us pass.

Encounters such as these makes our wildlife journeys much more interesting!!
