Meall Dearg

The blip is of the view from Meall Dearg, regarded as being the most difficult Munro Top on the Mainland of Scotland. We were staying with B at his chalet in Aultbea and decided to go to Torridon to go up Meall Dearg. It’s a pleasant walk into the coire north of Liathach and then it gradually gets steeper as you approach the col between the top and the main ridge. The last 30 metres is really steep and then the ridge up to the top is a piece of cake in comparison. The big hill is Beinn Eighe, and you can see the Whitbread wilderness in the background. After carefully going down the gully we had a pleasant walk back while B made his way over Liathach. Another tick off the list.
