Robber Fly?

The total eclipse wasn't anywhere near total on the Cape, so I went about my business today, and watched it on TV.  I went to a conservation area I haven't visited before so I felt like I was on an adventure.  It is a meadow loaded with nest boxes (empty now of course), wild flowers, and a fair amount of poison ivy.  The birds, including a Northern Flicker were too far away for a crisp shot, so I concentrated on the insects.  I believe this is a Robber Fly.  I'll have to put my new insect identification book to use.
