Barton's Mill

It is our 37th wedding anniversary today - but sadly we are at opposite ends of the country with our respective mothers! Mrs madwill’s mum continues to make good progress after her stroke.

We had quite a distressing morning at the hospital, my mum’s illness is worse than we feared and she will need to have a six month course of chemotherapy, which will begin in a few weeks after some more checks.

The doctors were very reassuring - but there is always an element of uncertainty  about taking such a course.

For lunch we went to Barton’s Mill - a pub / restaurant. They have made features of the old mill workings inside the building, including this part where the river runs underneath the old waterwheel. I took this shot with my phone pressed up against the glass - the lighting is part of the feature.
