Sun Voyager

Day 1: a short night in a hotel close to Luton Airport ( has to be said in a Lorraine Chase voice) we were checked in by 04:30 and eating breakfast . And yes there were those on the beer already we saw. We arrived in Reykjavik at about 8:30 local time and were whisked into the city by car and an interesting commentary from our driver. Blue sky and temperatures of 12,degrees boded well for the day. As we guessed we were unable to check into the hotel so dumped our bags, and set off walking. First impression of Reykjavik is a compact city of eclectic modern buildings interspersed with a few older world gems. Population just over 100,000. We had a second breakfast and a late lunch : budget crunching but delicious. This is a modern statue down near the harbour called Sun Voyager .Now having an aperitif before deciding where to eat dinner. Steps so far 14000, 6.7 miles
