Cousin Matt

We had arranged a taxi to get us to the airport at Port Hardy this morning. As it seemed to be late arriving I called the cab firm, and they explained that we needed to share a taxi but it would only be 20 dollars each because of that. That was fine with us, and the taxi set off to pick up the next customer. He had been told 40 dollars and was rather annoyed. The next customer also paid 40 dollars!
The airport was small but modern, with a single check in desk and helpful attendant who also made the coffee!
The plane arrived and was a twin prop, carrying about 30 passengers and we had a smooth one hour flight to Vancouver.
We checked back into our hotel, and were told we had an upgraded room with ocean view! Better than that we had a washer dryer and got all our kayaking clothes washed!
In the evening, cousin Matt came to take us out to supper! We have never met him before, he is about the same age as Rob and owns an art gallery. We had a meal with him and his partner Sue at an amazing open roof restaurant on Granville Island. They were friends with the pianist who played us a couple of Elton John numbers and we all had a brilliant evening!
