No more kayaking

Homeward bound today. A much more restful journey than the outward one.

I drove back on the A5 through Snowdonia in green and pleasant countryside. Right up to the English border, the wayside stops were all independent. Not a Costa nor Starbucks to be seen.

This canoe may no longer be water worthy but it's been put to good use outside Moel Siabod café in Capel Curig, a wonderful place to wait out the day if it rains. Which it often does in Wales. Home made cakes in extra large sizes, good coffee, desks to set out maps and plan your walk, books and a photographic gallery with some amazing prints.

Everything changed as I approached the end of the M54. Congestion on the M6, naturally, and a three car pileup on the other carriageway attended by two fire engines and an ambulance. Traffic was queuing back to the M42.

At home, my iMac finally stuttered to a halt. Thank goodness for Apple Support.

A warm welcome from both the boys. Len cooked a rather nice stir-fry for supper.
