Super T.

Today M and I got up a bit earlier for breakfast at the hotel, ate faaaaar too much again and decided to walk it off with a wander round Inverness. We picked up a few bits and bobs in Markies for M's work, plus a dressing gown and slippers (well, it's coming into winter...). Perhaps not the most exciting morning in history, but Inverness is a lovely wee town - so much quieter than Aberdeen - and the weather was beautiful for a wander.

After an hour spent pottering, we decided to head back to Aberdeen before lunch. We stopped off at Nairn on the way as there was an antique fair (I'm not making us sound old beyond our years here, am I?) but there was nothing particularly interesting for us to spend our pennies on. When we arrived back in Aberdeen we decided to have a look in our local antique shop for a present for our friend who prefers things with a bit of history rather than brand new, and managed to find her a very sweet little teapot/sugar bowl/milk jug set. Unfortunately we also somehow found ourselves a set of 6 victorian oak dining chairs, which had recently been re-upholstered in the Buchanan tartan (my Dad's tartan) - oops. We managed to get £100 off the listed price as a couple of the cushions had been over-stuffed and didn't fit into the frames of the chairs properly; happily when we got home and rearranged the cushions, we managed to make them all fit perfectly into their frames. Feeling a bit guilty about it now, but not guilty enough to send an extra £100 back to the shop! :o)

We placed the new chairs in the dining room of the new house and admired them a while, before heading off to the Ferryhill for our dinner. I'm sure the chairs will feature in my Blipstream point, but for now, it's that lovely first pint of ice-cold Tennents (I didn't manage to restrain myself long enough to get a photo of the full glass). Home for a seat on the sofa and a film on the TV... Weekend perfection.
