The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Friday 25th August 2017)

It was the builder's final day and he completed all the work that had been set out at the start of the week. Today he was mostly plastering and painting.

I went in to Calne on foot in the morning running errands, and spent some time reading by the river. I then drove to the recycling centre with the last trailer load of concrete, soil and rubble.

The workshop has now been fully plastered and the walls and ceiling will be ready to paint in a week or so. The door in the blip and the door behind where I was standing that leads to the outside loo have been painted Atlantic Surf Blue, and there is now more light coming in through the window because I used my chain saw, after a bit of tuition from the builder, to truncate the hedgerow and shrubbery outside, producing another two trailer loads of green waste.

He will be back next Thursday and Friday to work on the conservatory ceiling and hopefully fit a new door on the driveway side of the outbuilding.
