Dereliction

Today is my 1500th blip so I thought I ought to make a bit of an effort and fortunately today has been our most active day as we went a sea trip around the island on the 'pirate' boat. There were lots of interesting things to see as to the north the coastline is formed from limestone and the sea has worn way some rather interesting limestone caves and arches. The most well known beach is one where a wreck (built in Scotland) was abandoned in stormy seas and ended up on a beautiful sandy beach in a gorgeous aquamarine bay. It can only be reached by sea but is Zante's number one beauty spot which all of the sea tours include. Despite the large size of our boat they were able to put out a gang plank that only involved a bit of paddling to get ashore.

My shot of it has emphasised the drama of the wreck set against the high cliffs and a smokey sky as there were forest fires over the other side of the island and helicopters flying by emptying their balls of sea water over the fire. I thought I ought to make some recompense for this and include some extra picture postcard shots which focus on the sheer beauty of the bay and it's gorgeous seascape.
