A Day Worth Recording

Silencer One

When investigating the source of some plumbing noises with Ray our friendly plumber we had a look at incoming the water pressure.  I knew it was pretty high but even I was taken aback by it being a bit over 6 bar.

To put that in context, it's twice the car's tyre pressure.

No wonder the plumbing sounds like it's about to explode when you turn a tap on (and indeed, sounds like it has exploded when you turn it off).

A widget was needed.  And, naturally, it was needed in the least accessible and available bit of pipework of the 3 miles of it that we have here.  Still, Ray got it in and we no longer have hissing pipes - but do still have a bit of a thud, so another widget is needed elsewhere as yet.

In other news - an exhausting day as it was a large turn-round of self-catering and B&B rooms, swapping cricketers for Morgan owners.
