Cathedral organ pipes

Day 5 and we are now on our way back to Reykjavik. We headed for Skaftafell National Park home of the Svartifoss Waterfall and on the edge of the Skaftasfelljokull (glacier) but first we went back to Jokusarlon Glacier Lagoon as the weather was brighter this morning. It looked completely different in the bright light and not only because of course the icebergs had all moved and changed since yesterday.
We went down to the beach and so if you are ever asked where you can see ice washed up on a beach ( of black sand) in a quiz you will know! Quite bizarre but beautiful.
By the time we got to the glacier , about a 1hour 30 minute climb the weather was closing in but managed to see it and appreciate the size of it. Then we headed down to the waterfall which is surrounded by basalt cooled into hexagonal columns like Giants Causeway but hanging down to give it the nickname of the Cathedral organ. Spectacular .
We drove along the coast towards Vik, finally seeing some Icelandic horses close enough to the road to speak to. Just been in the geothermal hot tub and now drinking Gand T before dinner. An excellent day!
