High Rigg

Despite waiting for hip replacements I decided that I've been away from the fells for too long. So, after knocking back the anti inflammatories (!), Honey and I set off this morning and parked a our usual spot just off the A591.

It was dry and overcast but bright with a nice warm SSW breeze which turned into a strong wind on the top. Sadly, as you can see, there was no view of Blencathra from the summit as the clag was very low but it was great to get out.

We ate our lunch at the top and then I turned back the way I came instead of continuing down and round the back of the Fell like I usually do. My joints can't hack it these days.

A great way to spend a few hours. The purple heather is looking great
