LUCIFER, by BRYAN KNEALE

As part of a permanent collection, 'Lucifer' is  set in a snug court in Jesus college, between the chapel and the Quincentenary  library, the site was chosen by Kneale  as the best spot to catch the light. It's made from sleek strips of stainless steel, dazzling in it's reflectivity. A renowned  contemporary sculptor, Bryan  Kneale (b1930) has his work in the Tate and British Museum, also others around the world. Lucifer is not just the Morning Star that shines the light of Venus, it is also Satan, so there's a bit of a devil parading around behind the chapel !
