I went to Haddo House this afternoon in search of waxcap mushrooms; I found none! But I did find this splendid Leccinum versipelle, commonly known as the Orange Birch Bolete. It is not only edible but also makes for good eating. However, I left it for others to enjoy. When I retraced my steps one of the "others" had snaffled it!
