Blossom Time

I was wanting to get some shots of the waxeyes with the plum blossom that opened in the heat yesterday morning. How frustrating it was. They flit about with such speed, and the open blossoms act as cover. After about half an hour and more than 70 shots I had a crick in my neck and a few so-so photos. Many of the frames were waxeye free, or of an entirely different bird from the one that was there as I pressed the shutter button.

A collage of four more shots is in extras, including one of the new fat holder my son made from fishing line, and an altercation at the sugar water dispenser.
