James Graham Huston

Retired surveyor about to enter his 10th decade James walks every day. He never knew his father who died when James was just 3 as a result of health issues following deprivation during the First World War.

Much travelled he talks lucidly of climbs in the Alps and the Himalayas.

But the real pièce de résistance is this. In the 1930's when visiting his uncle who was a senior Foreign Office attaché in Germany the young James was introduced and shook hands with Adolf Hitler.
