chasing butterflies

I have quite a few butterflies in the garden now but they seem to be only plain white ones. Decided to go out in the late afternoon sunshine to a nearby nature reserve where there are more varieties. Arrived to find the meadow flowers completely finished and no butterflies in sight. It looked more like autumn in the nearby woods. Quite a change from my own garden where the wild flower seeds  were sown very late and it still seems a lot more like spring!  Returned home to chase the butterflies around my garden instead.
