Richmond

We are on a weekend visit to Richmond, Surrey to see Emma and Andy who live in St Margarets just across the river.  We arrived in time for lunch then went with Emma on a Thames cruise to Hampton Court.  The place is very impressive though we didn't go in, we went in search of caffeine and found a nice cafe nearby.  On  returning to Richmond by bus we visited a local pub for a drink then met up with Andy and walked up Richmond Hill to the Roebuck for a meal, and another drink.

Towards the top of the hill we paused to admire 'Turner's View' (blipped a couple of years ago) - so called because it was one of his favourite scenes and immortalised in paintings.  Off to the left is the Petersham Hotel, bathed in a lovely light as the sun was beginning to lower in the sky.  

Back at the hotel now and looking forward to another fun-packed day tomorrow.
