This one's alive!!!

This is a new-born monarch, and we were thrilled to watch the beginning of life for this butterfly!
After saying the entire summer that we were going to visit this nature preserve, today we realized summer is nearly gone....so off we went!!

We started with the Visitor's Center, and they directed us to the Butterfly Garden!   It was wonderful to see every stage of the Monarch from caterpillar to adult, and also present were Black Swallowtails and Cabbage Whites.
We saw several butterflies just drying out their wings, and this one landed on the masses of flowers in just the perfect spot for a photo op!

The REAL reason we came here was because of a famous treehouse!!  If any of you are familiar with the Animal Planet show, "Treehouse Masters", then you will know what I'm talking about.   The crew came to the Flint, Mi. area over a year ago, and this lovely house was the result.

The structure was so very impressive, and we loved how it was built around  all of the existing trees without damaging any!   I so want one in my yard now!
My extra is Sanibel just about to walk inside the treehouse, and you can see the walkway high above the nearby river!   It is an amazing building!!

Thank you, Anni, for another excuse to share a flower!
