Gannets

Blipmate and I went to the entrance to the estuary this morning and to our delight spotted two gannets fishing - and they were closer than the last time I spotted them.

It was great to see them diving with wings folded back along their bodies and then using those strong wings to pull themselves out of the water and into the air again. ( See extras)

It was hard to choose a blip as I had managed to get several acceptable in-flight shots but finally decided on this one.


I only had one extra left so  I will free up some more and put in a couple of extra gannet pics.
