Weniger Granteln

The title needs explaining.  This building is actually the Residenz in München* and not a building called "Weniger Granteln".

"Weniger" means "less" in German & "granteln" is a very southern German verb that means "to be very Yorkshire-like** moan a lot about everything".

The title fits for today because it rained pretty much all night and for the whole morning, but it stopped at lunchtime and we got out and enjoyed München.  It is such a beautiful city, although it is full of building sites and a million impatient drivers at the moment.

We went for a long wander while it stayed dry.  Ended up here for a restorative plate of food and a small bier.  I do love a glass of Helles when I'm here.  Anyway there was a small blackboard above the bar that said "Weniger granteln, mehra [sic] schmusen" (moan less, smooch more).  Good advice for life that.

It can keep on raining, we're not going to granteln.

*The largest city palace in Germany.

** Only a joke.
