Evening on the patio

We had a wonderful day. We started the morning braving the labor Day Weekend traffic (which didn't exist at all going north) to a fabulous place,  Olde New England Granite, in Wakefield, Massachusetts. We roamed around a huge lot filled with granite pieces reclaimed from all over the area, saved from being pulverized. The prices were far more reasonable than we imagined and we were able to buy a small granite trough for the new garden and some other small accent pieces. One strong young guy put the trough in the back of our Subaru Forester, but the question now is how do we get it out and in the garden?? The trough was made from a piece of granite that once was part of the Longfellow Bridge in Boston. After that we explored a garden shop and the fabulous Cochato Nursery in Holbrook. We purchased a lovely fern, a blue green dwarf conifer and a hens & chickens plant.

The granite pieces are in place(except the featured piece in the car), the new purchases planted and the stone rabbit placed. We lit a fire and relaxed, a day well spent.

This day came in cool and clear, absolutely perfect weather.

All hands happy after a lovely day.
