Turning for Home

Backblip

This was our last sea day before the end of the cruise and a lovely sunny one it was too, and much warmer than where we'd sailed to! This is literally as the ship turned passing Land's End - you can see we're turning from the ship's wake. We were sitting in some sun loungers and were momentarily flummoxed by seeing land on the horizon on the side it shouldn't be! A quick check showed land on the other side too and we realised we were sailing between the Isles of Scilly and the coast of Cornwall. Just the cases left to pack to leave outside the cabin before dinner - they get taken down into the hold and removed when we dock (around 3am) so they are waiting for us in deck order in Southampton when we disembark with our hand luggage first thing in the morning. In terms of miles travelled this was a shorter cruise having sailed 3,542 nautical miles.

It's been a delightful cruise, one of my favourites and I'd definitely like to visit Orkney again for a week sometime.

PS If you were wondering why I didn't blip during the cruise, Vodafone charged me £6 per MB of data when on the maritime tariff!!!
