That Time of Year

After a leisurely morning, we went out for a drive. Our first port of call was a spot where people regularly feed birds. There was no food and no birds, but Mr PB had remembered to bring some and no sooner had he put it out than the birds appeared from nowhere - Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Dunnock, Chaffinches and Robins. Nothing unusual, but so nice to see them flitting about. Our next destination turned out to be a no-go as there was a grouse shoot in progress, so we continued on to my favourite woodland, where fungi were really starting to fruit. I didn't have enough energy to explore the woodland fully, but found this Grey-spotted Amanita in a nice open location.
