Time has taught the uses of silence

A sculpture on the Corbenic Poetry Path. This short walk is perhaps the best and most varied for scenery in Perthshire, and that is saying a lot.

It was a short walk because I had a hasty visit to the optician in the morning. I developed a marked "floater" in one eye the night before, accompanied by occasional flashing lights. It was quite worrying, but after an examination I learnt that it isn't uncommon. With age, the gel in the eye contracts and pulls at the retina. In severe cases it can lead to a detached retina, but typically it heals within a week or so.
