Pictorial blethers

Evening fountain

We thought the rain would never stop today. The weather app said it would; the Met Office site promised sun by seven. By 4.30 we could bear it no longer and headed out into a fine drizzle; as we drove north over the high road it was raining hard. Ten minutes later we parked, to find that the rain had stopped.

We were in Benmore Gardens again - it's a go-to every time we feel in need of a quick pick-me-up. Today it didn't disappoint. The air was heavy with the scent of wet shrubs, and unexpected pools glinted under the trees. Sun shone from beyond Glen Massan. By the time we arrived at the ornamental pond the shadows were lengthening and the strips of light had left the water. The gardens were deserted, but the fountain was still playing. It sounded loud in the birdsong peace.

I chose to blip this because of the reflections of the trees and the way the light gleams on the dark shoulders of the fountain statue.
