Looming

I was struck this morning, as I waited for friends in a quiet back street of Dunoon, by these wonderfully minatory clouds over the hills behind the town. I don't think they came to much - more a remnant of showers gone than anything to come - but they made a wonderful contrast with the white houses.

A little further up this road you come to Alexander Street, which runs at right angles to this one and is the last street in town before the hills. It's a very silent place on a term-time morning - I saw only one person on my way round there. It's certainly not a place I've ever thought of photographing...
