Memories

On Saturday I took part in an "In Memory" walk organised by Christian Aid.

The group assembled at Dollar Parish Church and then walked along the Devon Way and Hillfoots Diamond Jubilee Way, finishing 16.8km later at Logie Kirk, where there was a short service of reflection and remembrance.

This was the second annual "In Memory" walk (and thankfully the route was a little shorter than last year's walk) and the idea is that one does it in memory of someone - or more than one person - who has passed away. When we meet, we are given (if we wish) a small candle for each person we wish to remember. At the end of the walk we place our candle(s) on the Communion Table and light them. A few of those walking also carried mementos of the person / people they wished to remember.

The walk itself is good fun and is done at a relaxed pace. It certainly is different from the other walks I do! I've added a couple of extra photos - one from above Alva and the other of some of our candles at Logie Kirk.
