1908

This Salvation Army hall is on Rochester Row. I wasn't able to find out the history save to say that it was built in 1908 - that's shown at the top of the building. By then the Army would have been about 43 years old. It had become established in the US following its disaster relief work during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Given the security camera by the door I'd guess that this place is used - or has been used - as a shelter or day centre  for people who are homeless.
