If you can't beat them...

Another quiet day round home

Another quiet day round home.  I couldn't go anywhere because I was waiting for a delivery.  I discovered mid afternoon that the delivery had been rescheduled for tomorrow!  I couldn't have done anything much outside as it was the wettest day we have had for sometime.

A desperation blip from the garden again!  This Prunus incisa Kojo-no-mai provides interest all season.  It begins by being covered by delicate little white flowers.  Then soon after they have gone the leaves begin to take on colour.  They end up with this wonderful bright scarlet and stay like that for weeks.  Left to itself in the ground it will have a spread of 2m and a height of 2m.  Ours is a sort of Bonsai, not formally trained or anything but only about 50 cm tall and having been like that for a good number of years as it is container grown.
