Female Ruby Throated Hummingbird

Female Ruby Throated Hummingbird sipping at the canna lilies!

Not much of a vacation week for Kent.  He went to the plant in Lumberton yesterday to do all he needed to do there before any major storm.  Today, although he was home he spent a good while on a conference call all various department heads discussed what needed to be done to prepare for the storm. Tomorrow he will go into work to do more storm prep work.

All eyes are on Irma.  She has done so much damage already and will continue to do so much more.  Mother Nature can be so cruel.  We are watching to see just how much of an impact we will have here come Monday/Tuesday.

Today the weather was beautiful.  While Kent was off getting his hair cut, I sat out back in my chair and was successful at long last of getting photos of a couple of hummingbirds sipping from the canna lilies.  This will take you to my flickr where you can scroll through all the hummingbird photos I took today.

There were lots of Clouded Sulphur Butterflies about along with many Nuthatch snagging sunflower seeds from the feeder.  When the Nuthatches weren't at the feeder, it was a fullhouse of House Finch.

It's the calm before the storm and I took advantage of it!
