Digital Humanities Lab
We had a meeting in and then a tour of the new Digital Humanities Lab at work - it was fascinating. The snap on screen is of a digitised version of a manuscript that is about 6ft long, showing the family tree of an important local family through the ages. The coats of arms are about an inch high on the manuscript, but using the facilities you can examine it in great detail on screen. It was great, you could even see the faint lines of where they had sketched things out before filling it all out properly in ink.
The team are busy working on the Grecian archive at the moment so we will all soon be able to explore the history of ECFC online
