This could almost...

... have been an un-fair blip.

For the past few days, there have been posters around our urban village, advertising the visit of a travelling fair on September 7-9. The usual collections of vehicles, caravans etc. appeared earlier in the week but not a lot of activity.

Yesterday evening I had planned a 'fair' blip and went out to see what was happening - the place was in total darkness; hence the rather cryptic text on yesterday's blip.

Tonight, undaunted, we wandered the couple of hundred metres to find the action. Indeed there was some action, moving rides, lights and a bit of noise. But where was the crowd?  Not many in attendance, for whatever reason. But I enjoyed the moving lights and shapes.

It is unusual for a travelling fair to be seen here (indeed I can't remember one visiting before) and the publicity wasn't great. Maybe Saturday night will bring a surge of interest

In the meantime, I've added a couple more shots in the extras.
