Broadway Under the Stars...

...in Jack London State Historic Park, which happens to be just down the road from us in Glen Ellen. The picture is a bit blown out because it was taken rather clandestinely with my phone which doesn't adjust too well to a brightly lit stage which is literally under the stars.

I don't know how anyone ever got the idea of the Trancendence Theatre Company performing Broadway hit songs under the stars in the ruins of Jack London's winery, but it is wonderfully organized and great fun. We got there early enough to have a picnic dinner before the show started. There were picnic tables, food trucks, and wineries pouring Sonoma Valley wines. The show is well produced, performed by talented young actors,  and benefits several community projects in the Valley of the Moon including a children's theatre and summer camp. It was great fun and a much needed escape from the worrying weight of current events.

We drove home past familiar vineyards and wineries under a starry sky and commented to each other how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place.

This morning it was Ozzie's turn for his own adventure. We took him over to the 'Water Bark' at Spring Lake. Before they close the swimming lagoon for the season, they open it for two days of fun for the dogs. Watching dogs run, chase each other, retrieve tennis balls, try to dig under the fence and interact with their people never fails to bring a smile to my face. I put a picture of the lifeguard patrolling the mayhem and retrieving tennis balls in extras.
