High Rock

T and I made it back to our home in Easter Washington just in time to for the smoke plaguing the Pacific Northwest to disperse. It is good to be home, but I still have a couple days of back-blips to post. Here is the first.

Looking at my photos from the 7th there are a lot to chose from. We went to Gettysburg Battlefield, one of the most significant battles of the U.S. Civil War, visited the first national cemetery established there by Abraham Lincoln in 1863 for the 3000+ Union dead. We also drove up to High Rock, a hang gliding launch pad on the Maryland-Pennsylvania border near Smithville, MD, abandoned when it was outlawed. It is now a great overlook and is covered in amazing colorful graffiti.  After that we looped home through Ft. Richie, abandoned by the U.S. military in 1998 and now quietly decaying. All in all good stuff for photos! I'm including here a view from the side of High Rock. You can't see the full view, and you can't really see the graffiti, but for some reason I like this shot.
