Szczecin, Poland

Here we are in Poland!  The name of the town we are visiting is quite a challenge to spell and pronounce, but I learned that it used to be called "Stettin" when it was under Swedish and German control.  It looks very charming from the balcony of our ship, where I took this photograph.

We are taking a break from tours today after yesterday's pushfest, and I am coming down with a cold (not surprisingly, as we've heard an awful lot of sneezing, coughing, and blowing of noses since we boarded the ship!)  The town is four miles from the port, although it doesn't look that far away, and there is no shuttle bus to the center.  So lots of good reasons to just stay on board, take advantage of the laundry while most people are ashore, and just laze around and read!
