Back to Connecticut for ten days or so -- we think Mabel's recovery will be easier here, where we can just let her out into the garden, rather than making her walk to and from Boston Common when nature calls.

The weather is very tropical feeling, with heavy grey skies, steady rain, hot and humid.  No doubt the poor folk in the path of Hurricane Florence will be experiencing far worse within a few hours.  The weather pundits are predicting upwards of 40" of rain in the direct path of this monster.
