Another long day with the house projects.

I'm too tired to remember what I wrote yesterday. So there might be some gaps or repeating in the story.

Today the project front yard started. Apparently the front of the house (dirt) is such garbage that it needs to be given a good foundation first. So they lifted away all my hard work (all the tiles, all the plants) and dug away a lot of dirt (and construction garbage like tiles, concrete, iron barbs) so it could be dealt like it should. Luckily it's a small yard. Our main lounge area will be the rooftop terrace, once they manage to give us access there.

So the area with the concrete will get the tiling and all the rest is gravel and then plants on the side.

We have a guy coming to give us a quote about an awning on Friday morning for the front of the house. Not all the way through the yard, just some distance. We'll see....

We have new neighbors from Denmark. They are in such a rage about the condition the got their house in. Gland to notice that we are in the acceptance stage now. they are still steaming about how dirty it was (remember me cleaning everything 3 times to get the dust away) and about all the mistakes and absence of ordered and paid for work. They even told how there was something wrong in the bath room and the construction guys had to take the sink off. When doing that they broke some tiles. They put the broken tiles back on and just added some silicone! Jeez! There's a new house for ya!

Apparently we could have paid for the construction company to do the yard too (no one told us). It would have cost 5500€ (which is like 3 times what we pay now.) Some Belgians had taken it on the other side of the row and it's a shitty job they have done. Shitty job and overly priced. Amazing how they can just continue doing this over and over. But the company owns about all the land here, so if you wanna move in the area that's who you gotta deal with. (There is another construction company building a bit here too. They give better service and do a better job, but their houses also cost 2,5 times more. So there you go. The options you have. You can also buy an old house which have no insulation or other EU requirements. Many of our friends suffer from leaking roofs when it rains :-(.  )

Leave you with a nice sunset shots that will bring a better mood to all of us.
