Batty

I've long wanted to do a bat walk and finally went on one this evening with the Hampshire Bat Group (organised by Gilbert White's museum), with Mr DA in tow. We walked up and back down Selborne hanger, having got to the bottom in time for sunset. We saw - and heard on our bat detectors! - several serotines and both common and soprano pipistrelles. They're very dedicated, bat people, often carrying out all-night surveys, and our guide tonight was very knowledgeable so we learned a lot.
