Heritage is my hobby

For the Cultural Blip Hobby challenge I have chosen to illustrate my hobby of researching local history. The sign is a result of a combined effort by the local historical association who researched the Motueka Wharf for its 100 Years celebration back in 2014. Another local group, Keep Motueka Beautiful has been working with the local council on bringing some order to the wharf area. We decided to use our knowledge and money we made from the book to erect a sign giving locals and visitors alike a little bit of knowledge on what went on there for the last 100 years. They can buy the book for the full story.
A couple of extras showing its position in the scheme of things and you may even be able to read what is written on the sign in the second extra.
The fishing platform came after a local fish factory bought the actual wharf when it closed and there was nowhere for the fishermen to stand.
Plenty of walking, bird life, and round further the marina and estuary areas. Most of which you have seen at one time or other in my photos.
My first love is genealogy but it is even more difficult to show. Now of course photography is a third hobby.
