A-Z food challenge: H is for Hungary

...and for 'hungry', too!

Tonight's dish is Szilvás Gombóc, or Plum Dumplings. These were tricky things to make! The dumpling dough is made from potatoes, butter, egg & flour, and I had lots of trouble getting it to roll and then getting it to stick around the plums in the centre. As a result, the dumplings ended up a lot bigger than I intended.

But they were very tasty (not too sweet), paired with a homemade plum sauce and vanilla ice cream.
