You Rang, M'Lord?

I can't believe we've just been to the second National Trust property in 10 days, finally making use of the membership & free entry! This is Killerton House, once home of the Acland family & built for them in 1778. It was given to the National Trust by the last Acland owner, Sir Richard Acland... & has been owned by them since 1944 & is one of the largest estates covering some 6400 acres. It's a very beautiful house, a much larger, grander one was planned but family deaths put paid to that & this was only built as a *temporary* residence. I did like it, I loved the grounds, the trees esp, but there was something lacking in it, some lack of love or atmosphere, something didn't sit right & I can't place my finger on it! We bought some of these flowers which look like bells, hence the title of this blip....

As for you know who:

Hooray it's the weekend. A whole weekend dedicated to gardening. And you know us, it's gardening for wildlife, anything to improve their lives, backs will ache & brows will sweat... ;) xxx
