Waiting to depart - excited!!

Went to Alston today and had a tootle on the South Tynedale Railway. I've been to the station a few times but have never had a turn on the vintage trains before. Loved it. Travelled from Alston to Lintley Halt and then walked along the Pennine Way to Slaggyford (good name!) and then a bit further along the road to the Kirkstyle Inn at Knarsdale. Brought back some happy memories of doing the Pennine Way. Walked back along the permissive path at the side of the track to Lintley Halt and got the last train back to Alston. Fab day, loved it.
