A different view

... from the last one. This morning we left our housesitters to settle in while Mystère glared at them suspiciously (he does know them, they have stayed before, so I fully expect him to relent). And set off with a loaded car. We stopped for lunch in Sant Sadurni d'Anoia, again hoping to go to our favourite restaurant in the whole of Catalonia. At least it was open this time. But as it's now #1 on TripAdvisor, it was unfortunately fully booked for lunch, even though we arrived the second it opened. But the advantage of knowing the town was that we had a Plan B -- we went to Taps de Suro for some tapas instead.

This is the church in Sant Sadurni; hymns were ringing out, groups of people were chatting on the steps, and the pro-independence banners were fluttering from the tower. The streets were thronged with a mixture of mountain bikers in lycra, and families in their Sunday best. After lunch we set off again on the long, tedious drive south, and are now in our usual hotel in Xátiva. More driving tomorrow ...
