The Little Pollinator

II spotted a strange wasp this afternoon.  It appeared to have a white stripe along its back.

Watching it for a while soon revealed the cause - it was busy pollinating the Himalayan Balsam flowers in its efforts to consume sweet nectar.

Bees have efficient combs on their legs that let them manage their pollen load but not the wasp. It had built up into quite a thick stripe that you may be able to see more clearly in the 'extra'.

Thank you all for your comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's supermarket crab-apples. I still can't make up my mind which way up to view it.
