Start Lighthouse and Highland Cattle

The annual RSPB members and staff trip to Sanday looking for autumn migrants. A good day, nothing too spectacular but 76 species including lesser whitethroat, my first of the season yellow-browed warbler (see Christine Hall's page), garden warbler, merlin, peregrine, and lots of waders - knot, ruff, black- and bar-tailed godwits etc. We got over to Start lighthouse where manx and sooty shearwaters were seen (but not by me!).
