Hokusai homage

In March 8 blipped about an exhibition mainly by craftswomen who had interpreted works of art using fabric, wool, sewing, felting, knitting and other techniques. I was curious and also visited the exhbition. I was also inspired to persuade my craft group friends to try something similar. They produced some fabulous items including felted Monet Water Lillies; a needlefelted Munch Scream; an embroidered mellow Mondrian and an embroidered early stone carving, not to mention Hokusai waves in 2 different weaving techniques. I went for a Hokusai Mount Fuji. The wool had a life of its own an the volcanic cone turned a bit pudding shaped but I am fairly happy with the result and enjoyed the process.
Here it is...
