The bake off...

Daan and I tried to bake a cream pie tonight.
After dinner we went back into the kitchen for some serious baking. Much fun to do together.

Unfortunately a few things went wrong during the process.
The first problem we encountered was that the cake didn't grow at all in the oven. We still don't know why. It smelled great, but that's all that happened.
The recipe told us we had to slice the cake in three layers. Well, that was a bit of a challenge with a total height of 1 cm. We solved that by skipping the middle layer.
Daan covered the lower part with raspberry jam and then we went on with making whipped cream.
The mixer did it's thing and we produced a big bowl full of whipped cream. Delicious.
But then, while we were covering the pie with it, all of a sudden the whipped cream went very wet and lumpy. All in an instant. Yak!
That was a new experience for us. We don't know why and how that happened.
Our cream pie was ruined.
So everything ended up in the trash can and we had a good laugh about it.

Maybe we'll have more luck when we try again.
